Giselle Ty

A series of psychologically immersive theatrical installations presented and created for the Peabody Essex Museum in 2015.  Through a tautly conceived series of discoveries and surprising situations, these eleven variations take the audience through a meditative, playful, and otherworldly examination the way see each other and our environment.

Piece for dancer, violinist, silent actor, and audience.

Presented as part of ALL AT ONCE UPON A TIME (or Variations on a Theme of Disappearing) at the Peabody Essex Museum in 2015.  The piece consisted of eleven psychologically immersive experiences that take the audience through a series of tautly conceived discoveries and surprising situations, guiding them through a meditative, playful, and otherworldy examination of how we see each other and engage with our environment.

Piece for silent actor, audience, and a distant violin.

Poems on a clothesline.  The table is set.  And the audience is invited to  partake in a silent meal of transcription before time runs out.

The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage, a new opera by composer Elena Ruehr and librettist Royce Vavrek.

World premiere presented by M.I.T. Center for Art, Science, & Technology and Guerilla Opera at M.I.T.’s W-97 Black Box Theatre.

Based on the New York Times best-selling graphic novel by Sydney Padua, the comedic new work centers on scientists Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage, the real-life unsung inventors of the first computer, fighting crime in alternate universes with their new invention.
